New Year, New Me? Nah, don’t think so!
The old saying, “new year, new me” is so….dare I say it?? Cliche. Yep, I said it.
And it is the mantra most popular at the onset of every new year. Not me though. Not for 2018. Because I honestly have a slight problem with the phrase as a whole. It is in fact, a new year. But does that warrant a whole, complete, fresh version of myself? I think not.
The new year brings freshness like spring and an air of new opporutnities and a clean slate. But I learned way to many valuable lessons to become completely new. I’ve learned that I am capable of getting through some tough stuff while not losing my sanity. So, no… I will not be “new.” Instead, I will be the “best” me.
See, being the “best me” leaves embraces the newness and perpetuates it throughout the year. I can be the best version of myself every day in unlimited ways. So, why not? I definitely believe that is the best choice. See last year, I had the right idea to live boundlessly–but honestly, I failed. I failed misreably because I sitll put limitations on myself. So, as I embark on 2018, I’m gonna toss the resolutions and to-do’s. I still have some goals and benchmarks, but my concentration is to and put forth major effort in being the awesomely talented, loving, and fun chick that I am. That’s truly boundless living–loved and free.
